Biography

Born in 1961 in Bulgaria, I embarked on a lifelong journey driven by a profound curiosity about the human body and mind. After graduating from high school, I pursued my passion for helping people by enrolling in medical school, where I discovered my true calling—neurology. Years of dedicated practice in intensive care units not only honed my skills as a medical professional but also gave me unparalleled insight into the complexities of life, health, and resilience. My commitment to advancing medical science led me to complete a Ph.D. and contribute to numerous scientific publications and monographs. These efforts, alongside my clinical experience, solidified my reputation as a seasoned neurologist and researcher. Yet, medicine alone could not satisfy my need to explore the human experience. As a student, I turned to poetry as a means of expressing emotions and thoughts that science could not capture. Over the years, this creative outlet evolved into writing satirical short stories that reflect the humor and absurdity of life during Bulgaria’s socialist era—a period that shaped much of my early life as a young pioneer with a red tie and later as a member of the Komsomol. Throughout my life, I have faced challenges and celebrated successes, but I have always made space for sharing my observations and insights with others. I hope that readers of my stories will not only be entertained but also come away with a fresh perspective and a smile.
